[jira] Created: (DIREVE-312) Cannot switch log4j to DEBUG mode
Cannot switch log4j to DEBUG mode
----------------------------------
Key: DIREVE-312
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIREVE-312
Project: Directory Server
Type: Improvement
Reporter: Emmanuel Lecharny
Assigned to: Alex Karasulu
Priority: Minor
I did'nt found the way to set a DEBUG mode for ApacheDS 0.9.3.
I'm really pusseled as it works into my IDE, but not outside it. May be a lacking jar in my classpath (but at this point, I don't know which one to declare : commons-logging.jar, nlog4j-1.2.17.jar, slf4j-simple-1.0-beta9.jar, log4j-1.2.8.jar, ...
We really need to clarify this.
We also need to set a common log4j.conf file with all the declared loggers.

[jira] Resolved: (DIREVE-312) Cannot switch log4j to DEBUG mode
Posted by "Alex Karasulu (JIRA)" <di...@incubator.apache.org>.
Alex Karasulu resolved DIREVE-312:
----------------------------------
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
Use nlog4j and the log4j.properties file format. Set -Dlog4j.debug to see what/how nlog4j tries to find the properties file and where it is loaded from etc. Use the log4j.configuration=file:///path/to/file to use an alternative configuration.

it would be great to have this documented a little bit more in detail to solve my security issue as per DIRSERVER-660
