[jira] Created: (TUSCANY-1361) New Util: Validation
New Util: Validation
--------------------
Key: TUSCANY-1361
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TUSCANY-1361
Project: Tuscany
Issue Type: Wish
Components: Java SDO Tools
Reporter: Christian Landbo Frederiksen
Priority: Minor
Has been discussed here: http://www.mail-archive.com/tuscany-user@ws.apache.org/msg01095.html
I do validation using EMF:
Diagnostic diagnostic = Diagnostician.INSTANCE.validate((EObject)dataObject);
if (diagnostic.getSeverity() == Diagnostic.ERROR) { ....
Kelvin points out that this is not a full schema validator but that it might be added as a utility with some comments on the restrictions.
I'll look into making my code more general in terms of using this as a utility, and I'll put something here.
Any ideas as to how this could be implemented best as a simple utitlity are velcome. More specifically - how do we report the validation errors. I use a custom ValidationError class.
