Installion on RedHat 9 with rpm fails
Hi,
I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I tried SVN and
really like it. But did the easy installation on windows, now that I
have used it a littled I need to move it to my main dev box which is
running red hat 9 linux. When I try and install the rpm I get
dependencies error.
apr
apr-util
libapr
libaprutil
libneon
neon
It says that these are not found, I am not able to find them on the
web, is it possible for me to get the location and some install
instructions for this.
Also Once I am done doing this, how do I make the SVN available using
Apache/Tomcat? Do I need to do somehting special, if so, some help on
it would be great.
Thanks
A

Thanks,
I never try to do it from a tar ball, something or the other always
goes wrong, so I try to get rpms that install, but I tried your way,
and it seems to have worked flawlessly.
Thanks

Hi,
It depends what you want. For Redhat9 maybe the easiest way is to
compile the subversion from a tarball. In case you need only a client or
client and server using svn protocol only - that should be no problem
(esspecially if you don't care about Berkley DB).
RPM also can be found probably, try for example
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=neon+rpm+Redhat+9+download&spell=1
but make sure you know what packages you are using ...
If you want a server with http, then you will need to compile Apache
from a tarball too. Have a look in the INSTALL file in the subversion
tarball.
