How to build james in windows xp
im newer in james...
i've been read the documentation of "how to build james" but i still dont understand...in the last description "Bulding the Distribution"...how can i implement in windows xp?how to write in command line in windows xp?
can anyone help me or any reference about this...

First step would be finding out which process owns the port, then you can
stop it. http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~rakerman/trojan-port-table.html lists
various applications for MS-Windows that will show you port information,
including several that will show you which processes are using which ports.
One is a free download from Microsoft.

hello there...
im using OS - windows xp
java - j2sdk 1.4
james download souce format - 'james-with-phoenix-2.2.0-src'
now my problem is...when i run the run.bat file...error come up and the command promt disaphere...here i attach the picture of my error and i hope anyone can help me how this could be happened and how to solve it...
error:

at..........
i can't attach the picture...so here the error of 1st line on command promt...can anyone help me?why smtp server fail?how to solve it?

do i just copy and paste the file to the directory of james?
my question is...
spam filtering is my thesis..and i must prove it with spam filtering file that created by james...do spamassasin is a filtering?
and finally shoud i use the binary format or get the source format to get a antispam java file...?
im confuse now...

now after configuration using binary format..how can i get antispam java file in james?filtering is my thesis..and i must prove it with filtering file that created by james...can anyone help me on this,....shoud i use the binary format or get the source format to get a antispam java file...?

Yes, configuring the config.xml file appropriately will activate James'
antispam abilities. You'll have to read the docs to properly configure it,
however.
To get James to accept the new changes, you'll have to save the config file,
then restart James.

Configuration is done via the config.xml file and the Remote Manager. If you
have a text editor and a telnet client, you're good to go.

You don't need to build James. Go to http://james.apache.org/download.cgi,
and click on the link to download the "Binary (ZIP Format)" of James. Unzip
it to a folder, and run the launcher program. A DOS window should pop up,
stating that it is activating services. Make sure your firewall isn't
blocking James as well.
