Re: Problems with Rumen in Hadoop-0.21.0

hello!
I am also a new hadoop user.
And I meet the same problem with you.

I don't know how to solve the invalid file name of rumen.
my error is said "WARN rumen.TraceBuilder: File skipped: Invalid file name:
job_201109221644_0001_<username>"

If you have resolved your problem, can you help me? :)

Finally I've found why we can't use rumen in Hadoop-0.21, I've just seen
the logs of hadoop-0.20 and compared them with those of 0.21, then I found
there is a BIG difference between them in the format, that's why we can't
use rumen in 0.21.

BTW, the logs' format in 0.23 has also changed a little bit.

Sophie

hello~

Thanks your reply.

Recently I still can't run Rumen. And It also means Mumak - the hadoop
simulation can't use.

Do you have any suggestion tools about hadoop simulation?

Tanks a lot.

Are you using hadoop-0.21.0 (may be unstable relaease) ? Using 0.20.204 or 0.22 would be better.

>> "WARN rumen.TraceBuilder: File skipped: Invalid file name:
job_201109221644_0001_<username>"

This means : Rumen is assuming that the jobhistory file name format to be something else --- may be without "_username" or something else. Please see extractJobID() in TraceBuilder.java to get more details of what it is expecting.

Thanks & Regards,
