adding news items on confluence

Hey guys,
Do I need permissions to be able to add news items to the wiki? Looking at
the confluence documentation, I should see an "Add News" link at the top of
every page - but I'm not seeing one.

Thanks,
Nate

Doh! My mistake - sorry about that. News submission is currently
restricted to those added to the confluence group
'activemq-committers'.

I've added you to that group now, so hopefully the Add News link will
show up (sometimes you have to log out and back in again to force the
refresh).

Hm ... I'm just not seeing it. I would expect it to show up next to "Browse
Space", "Add Page" and "Add Diagram". Looks like it may be a permissions
issue - I see this on the atlassian documentation:

"To add a news item for a space, you require 'Create News' permission which
is assigned by a space
administrator<http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF20/Confluence+Glossary#ConfluenceGlossary-spaceadministrator>from
the Space Administration screens. See
Space permissions<http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF20/Space+Permissions+Overview>or
contact a space administrator for more information."

Are you familiar with this permission? Is this something that has to be
explicitly set for new users?

Thanks,
Nate

Yeah, you should. (You've hacked the wiki before right?)

You need to go to the edit page, then the confluence view page and you
should see an Add News link.
