can't run specs (scala-reflect 2.9.2)
Hi,
I am trying to run sepcs on buildr (before submitting easy patches),
but I can't make it work : the 'org.scala-lang:scala-reflect:jar:2.9.2'
dependancy doesn't exist or can't be downloaded.

Am I the only one to have this issue ?

Hi,
I invested a little more time in trying to track this down and may
have fixed the problem. Were you running on jruby 1.7.13? If so it
seems to have a bug/feature that we needed to work around (See [1]).
Can you try again?

Hi,
Sorry for not replying earlier - been caught up in other things and
only just had a chance to get back to this.

I am not actually sure but I certainly can not reproduce this back on
OSX. I suspect it has something to do with the version of rubygems or
the platform. (I did manage to re-prdoduce this under a Linux variant
...).
I believe it has something to do with the way versions are represented
in different platforms. See the failure that has been appearing in
TravisCI for a while
https://travis-ci.org/apache/buildr/jobs/32118453#L2559
This seems to indicate that the behaviour of the Gem::Version class
has changed over time and the buildr code needs to be updated to
follow it. In buildr we have code that compared the version of scala
and only included those deps if the version is high enough
https://github.com/apache/buildr/blob/master/lib/buildr/scala/compiler.rb#L147
However as you have a scala version of 2.9.2, it should NOT be
included but unfortunately it is. So my guess is that as soon as we
fix the version problem this will go away too.

It seems so :
$ ls -lh
/home/jp/.m2/repository/org/scala-lang/scala-library/2.9.2/scala-library-2.9.2.jar
-rw------- 1 jp jp 8,5M juil. 28 17:37
/home/jp/.m2/repository/org/scala-lang/scala-library/2.9.2/scala-library-2.9.2.jar
$ ls -lh
/home/jp/.m2/repository/org/scala-lang/scala-compiler/2.9.2/scala-compiler-2.9.2.jar
-rw------- 1 jp jp 11M juil. 28 17:38
/home/jp/.m2/repository/org/scala-lang/scala-compiler/2.9.2/scala-compiler-2.9.2.jar
I can unzip them, when I check their md5sum with the one I downloaded
elsewhere it is ok
$ md5sum *.jar

What is strange is that I do locally have artifacts in my maven repo :
$ find /home/jp/.m2 | grep scala | grep jar
/home/jp/.m2/repository/org/scala-lang/scala-library/2.9.2/scala-library-2.9.2.jar

I am not sure what the problem is. I can do it locally in a fresh VM,
and travis builds it fine.

No - it should just work.

That's the question. Can you attach the output of "rake spec --trace"
to a gist so I can see if there is anything that jumps out at me?

But Travis can build it, and I guess it doesn't have a cache.
I added
repositories.remote << 'http://central.maven.org/maven2'
to buildr.buildfile but I still can't download it :

not at all

These 2 links [2] and [3] work.
Do you suggest me to download it manually and put it in my local repo ?
I would prefer that the build works "out of the box" but I don't know
much about building buildr.
What makes TRavis behave differently from my dev box ?
