   Hi, I’m trying to build NimBLE Mesh on NuttX, but the mesh atomic header defines `atomic_t` and `atomic_*` names already provided by NuttX. This causes conflicting typedefs and macro expansion errors.
   
   What would be the preferred way to use NuttX’s existing atomic definitions without adding platform-specific workarounds to common mesh code or changing unrelated ports?

   Hi,
   
   I think we should probably get rid of atomic_t from api (have NPL API for atomics) and then leave implementation up to NPL porting layer.
   
   However, note that mesh was a bit of proof-of-concept port from Zephyr and wasn't updated for quite some time (other than handling issues in code reported or making sure it compiles/runs),  there are some oddities and unfortunate design choices in how this was ported... 
   
   TBH we were considering marking mesh as abandon(unmaintained) and eventually removing it from repo.
   
   Yet, if you are interested in using MESH you are more than welcome contribute, I'd first start with cleaning up port internals and them try re-sync code with upstream
