DO NOT REPLY [Bug 118704] New: Format painter
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=118704
Bug #: 118704
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Format painter
Classification: Application
Product: Word processor
Version: OOo 3.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 7
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P5
Component: formatting
AssignedTo: writerneedsconfirm@openoffice.org
ReportedBy: wayland@moncrief-usa.com
CC: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org
When I create my own paragraph and other styles the format painter can no
longer be activated. I tried this using the Open Office default template and
after I entered the third style (they were nested) the format painter became
inoperable. I tried making my styles a subset of the Default style and outside
of the Default style with the same results. There was nothing unusual about
the styles.

I just uninstalled Open Office, deleted the directory, ran a registry cleanup
and reinstalled it. The format painter worked when it was opened but not with
the file I sent in previously. This is a windows 7 system but I have had the
problem for some time going back to Windows XP. I didn't report it earlier
because I thought there was an error in my styles.

I still cannot reproduce the issue.
Using the attached doc, when setting the cursor on "Cover title" (with the
"XCoverTitle" style) and clicking the "Format Paintbrush" icon, then I can
click on "CycleB" and the format gets applied.
Or the other way round, after reloading the attached doc:
When setting the cursor on "1st Sunday ..." (with the "XStandard" style) and
clicking the "Format Paintbrush" icon, then I can click on "Cover Title" and
the format gets applied.
However, I'm doing this on Linux, so maybe this is a difference.

Created attachment 77094
--> https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=77094
Open Office file.
Here's an Open Office file. I tried adding the styles as text style and custom
style, under Default Style and under None with the same results. The format
painter cannot be selected.
