[jira] Created: (FOR-594) Eclipse Plugin is now RCP Enabled
Eclipse Plugin is now RCP Enabled
---------------------------------
Key: FOR-594
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOR-594
Project: Forrest
Type: New Feature
Components: Tool: Eclipse config
Versions: 0.8-dev
Reporter: Anil Ramnanan
Attachments: org.apache.forrest.030805.zip
Eclipse 3.1 now allows you to easily create Rich Client Platform applications out of existing plugins. I have enabled the Forrest plugin to generate an RCP application. This now allows us to create a standalone product based on the plugin.
I think this is important to do since the plugin is becoming more functional, at some point it may be useful to create a standalone application that will allow users to create and manage Forrest project through an IDE. With the RCP, it is now simply a matter of clicking on the forrest.product file and generating the application.
What still needs to be done is the definition in the RCP's perspective of the views, editors, wizards etc that need to be included in the application.
