[jira] [Commented] (PDFBOX-4884) Redaction through PDFBox
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PDFBOX-4884?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17136026#comment-17136026 ]
Tilman Hausherr commented on PDFBOX-4884:
-----------------------------------------
It's not supported. I doubt it would be implemented. To do this, one would have to analyze which glyphs are affected (might be possible, see DrawPrintTextLocations.java example), and in a second step, find these in the content stream, and delete / replace them individually while keeping the position of non redacted glyphs. An additional problem is that a small font subset could give away what was redacted.

> I am using 2.0 version of PDFBox. I was looking for "Redaction feature" in PDFBox. I could not find this feature in PDFBox. I dont know, if I am missing it, may be it could exist with different name.
> Does PDFBox support Redaction?
> If yes, request you to share java example code.
