ahh, think I get it.
I will try to fix this ASAP.
Think your 1) solution does not solve the problem, because pb.doGetObjectByIdentity(id); does lookup the cache again.
Your 2) will not work because OJB need cached objects to resolve circular references (this will change in later versions).
