Thank you for making a contribution. However, I did leave a series of comments on the PR. I am opposed to this change as-is. This JIRA does not help to make the case for it either. It is necessary to really understand what is being attempted here before evaluating this as a possible path to a solution. It raises flags as is as an anti pattern.
