[DISCUSS] Gora 0.1.1-incubating release (related to GORA-29)

Hey Guys,

See GORA-29 [1]. As it turns out, I can't publish one of the core parts of Gora 0.1-incubating, gora-hbase, because in 0.1-incubating, it relies on a version of HBase (0.20.6) that doesn't exist in any public Maven repository. We hacked this via lib-ext in 0.1-incubating, and Andrzej fixed it in trunk (with GORA-25 [2]). I'm still forging ahead and going to publish 0.1-incubating to Central, but it's only going to include apache-gora (parent), gora-core and gora-sql.

I propose to roll a 0.1.1-incubating release that backports GORA-25 [2] on top of the 0.1-incubating tag.

If I don't hear any shouts, I'll do this in the next 48 hours and call for a VOTE.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Henry,

Good question. I saw some issues with this and publishing the 0.1-incubating artifacts to Central.

I'll try and kickstart this over the next day or so.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris,

The 0.1.1 release does not need to remove the currently included local
jar files dependencies right?

Yep, +1. I was just going to backport Andrzej's patch.

I'm happy to RM 0.1.1 -- give me a day or so and I'll roll it out.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris,

+1 but it needs manual merging for Gora-25 because now Trunk contains
more fixes than just supporting HBase 0.90
