[jira] [Updated] (CB-346) Contact find() should have sorting

Filip Maj updated CB-346:
-------------------------

          Component/s: WP7
                       iOS
                       BlackBerry
             Priority: Minor (was: Critical)
    Affects Version/s: 1.5.0
Summary: Contact find() should have sorting (was: Contact find() should be enhanced to have sorting and more filter options)

The cordova Contacts API is based on the [W3C Contacts API draft spec|http://w3c-test.org/dap/contacts/].

Wildcards are already supported in the Contact FindOptions {{filter}} property.

Currently there are no provisions in this spec for any sorting functionality. I agree that sorting is a good feature to have, so you've got a +1 from me. I would suggest bringing this issue up in the Apache cordova mailing lists and gather more support for the feature, and possibly submit a pull request with an implementation for faster/more likely inclusion :)

> Hi All,
> PhoneGap(Cordova) Contacts.find() method should be enhanced to have multiple options for filters including wildcard filtering. Besides, there is also a very critical requirement for sorting. Phonebook contacts are usually not sorted and especially after the backup/restore using any App, so at this point the need for sorting is much higher. Without that I am afraid one can use it in any App.
> Moreover, one can't use Divider List functionality of JQuery Mobile.
> I will be very obliged if you make it available asap.
> Regards,
> Jawwad Farooq
