[~radu.manole] looking at the commits you've made to your branch on this issue, it looks like it is nearly done but not quite.
Can you tell me exactly where the entry point is and I will drive it to a close? I see you've written the protocol but not the Avro IDL. 
If you could shine some light on it for me I'll pick it up.
