Another note about netty dependencies is that the only reason we include it is to be able ro run ZookeeperClient in SSL mode to the new ZK https transport. It is a pity that Zookeeper client lib is so fat and requires this many libs for the client. So we should also explore how to split up SolrJ, ref SOLR-599 (comment) which would make the netty dependency scoped to only a part of SolrJ, not all of Solr. Perhaps it could even be broken out into a package?
