[jira] [Commented] (METRON-2171) Deprecate Kafka authentication handling

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/METRON-2171?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16877118#comment-16877118 ]

Michael Miklavcic commented on METRON-2171:

This will require some rigorous testing to validate that this is no longer an issue. The occurrence was always sporadic and inconsistent. IIRC there were also differences between what we saw in fulldev vs a production multi-node cluster. Tagging [~cestella].

> Previously we needed to detect and properly set the Kafka authentication setting, depending on the version of Kafka deployed.  This should not be necessary after upgrading to Kafka 2.0.0 and should be removed.
