Virtual Router nameserver change

Hello,

I have one problem with virtual router and nameserver.

After creating new instance i have 3 nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf file

nameserver mine_ip
nameserver public_ip
nameserver public_ip

Is it possible to change places like:

nameserver public_ip
nameserver public_ip
nameserver mine_ip

or just delete mine nameserver ip?

If nameserver first with mine ip addresses, then internet speed
dramatically goes down by 10-20 times or even more.

If i put mine nameserver manually into last place - speed is back to
normal...

ok, you definitely don't want to specify these in internal DNS. You'll cause routing asymmetry problems. Try removing the internal entries and then rebuild your VRs.

As Anil indicated, the values are set by the zone level DNS entries. What have you got setup in those?

Also, check what you have listed in your internal DNS, as ACS will place a static route in a VR for that internal entry to force the traffic out the private interface.

Hello,

ACS 4.7.1

I tryed to change /etc/dnsmasq.d/cloud.conf but after creating new VM -
they are putting again mine IP.

Re: Virtual Router nameserver change

Hi Mindaugas,

Usually the DNS configuration file will get DNS IP's (nameserver IP's) from
Zone's Public DNS1 & DNS2 (not Internal DNS's ). So the configuration file
should have only two entries
nameserver DNS1
nameserver DNS2

By the way, which version of ACS are you using?

Thanks,
Anil.
