Fatal error parsing XML: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: end tag at begining of document

Hello,

 
  I am receiving the above error.  When I process on certain
  sets of data... (table =  SkiArea.GeneralInfo );

  System setup:   xmlrpc-1.2-b1,   Java : build 1.4.2_01-b06
  Does anyone have any thoughts on this.  Should I be encoding
  the data before transmission?
