Regarding the creation of the ExoCMS module:

"Why another CMS? Before our decision to write the ExoCMS module, we
spent a lot of time doing researche on the Jakarta-slide project. We
even wrote a jetspeed portlet that could access the slide kernel,
allowing you to modify/update the content of the slide repository.
Despite the fact that Slide is undoubtedly a good project, it has a
number of drawbacks such as its slow implementation speed and poor
documentation. Moreover, the last stable release, 1.0.16, dates from Nov
2001."
