About VHOSTs
I've been reading the documentation of JAMES but when I was taking a look
about VHOSTs the information about setting it up is really poor. Could you
give me some more detailed information/steps on setting it?
I'm using JAMES on a Windows NT computer and need to, actually, hold three
domains on it.
Also, what kind of mailing list support is builtin or could be added to
JAMES? (also on the Windows NT computer).
Thanks a lot for your help,
Marc.

@localhost would work fine, too.

Will need to use VirtualUserTable mailet. It is used to map virtual users
to mail users. My solution was to have all users have there name as the
full email, but a + rather then @. Then have the VirtualUserTable convert
the virtual email address to the real email address. So for
abc@domain1.com, I have a user abc+domain1.com. The VirtualUserTable in my
MySQL database has the record User=abc, Domain=domain1.com, and
Tager_Address=abc+domain1.com@domain1.com. Also, make sure the match for
the mailet VirtualUserTable is match="All". If not you can get an infinite
loop in the spool manager, I did. With this in place, the user abc for
domain1.com would login with abc+domain1.com, and the given password.

Multiple domains
Posted by "Mr. King" <ki...@yahoo.com>.
I am using James 2.1 for multiple domains on one server.
I am able to create email accounts but it is created on all domains.
I want to create same mail accounts for more than one domain, which I don't
know how. Mails one abc@domain1.com and abc@domain2.com are stored in one
inbox.
I hope I could explain my problem.
Help needed!
Thanks,
RD

I've decided to mount a MySQL server on the NT Machine there's only one
small question left...
Where on the config.xml file should be put the JDBCVirtualTable and how to
get it running?
Thanks again and sorry again for asking so much!

I've been taking a look around JDBCVirtualUserTable Javadocs as Kenny Smith
told me to do but this requires using a JDBC data source for handling the
virtualusertable, is there anyway to go on with it using a file repository?
If not, I've seen that James supports mssql, oracle, mysql and more, but how
could I make JDBC connect to an ODBC source like a .CSV file or an Access
database? (I'd preferably go on with the file:// option instead of the db://
option)
Thanks a lot for all your help, and sorry of my ignorance ;)

Sorry but I'm still really lost! I don't know where to find those JavaDocs.
But thanks anyway I'll try to find it out ;)

Hi Marc,
Look through the JavaDocs in
org.apache.james.transport.mailets.JDBCVirtualUserTable.
The basic idea is:
1) Setup a database for your email aliases.
2) Setup the mailet in your transport processor (look in the javadoc)
3) The mailet creates the neccessary tables (I think)
4) Add aliases to the database.
The database will let you map user@domain -> a_pop and many other good
things.

Nice, but how to setup VHOSTs ? That's what I didn't understand of the
documentation.
Thanks a lot.
