[jira] Commented: (COUCHDB-120) Allow databases to be "rolled back" to a specific sequence ID.

Paul Joseph Davis commented on COUCHDB-120:
-------------------------------------------

Now that we have tail append headers we could do this pretty easily at the batch level IIUC. I reckon implementation would be "read back to last valid header, append a copy of it to end of file" type of operation.

> Rolling back databases to a specific seq_id would allow for "undoing" replication. possible use-cases included replication with an untrustworthy replication partner.
> (we should think about repl-ed and advocate safer-replication. advocating abstinence is another option, but that system is prone to #fail).
