User add/delete hang time

I'm having a problem with when a user is being added
or deleted there is no response (no confirmation that
the command was executed correctly - just a blank
screen and no time-out).  I have configured jetspeed
1.3a2 for mysql and got it working.  I also do not
have an SMTP server on my dev box, but I've disabled
all possible config lines in JetspeedProperties for
email.  I know the database is working correctly and
that Jetspeed is communicating with it.  I am also
using Tomcat 4.0.3.  The weird thing is that although
there is no response, when I go to another page the
command had been executed (the user was either added
or deleted from the app).  Can anyone help me with
this?
