*** Qatar Telecom Is looking to hire :

  Internet-Intranet IT specialist


*** Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in computer sciences or equivalent (master is a plus)
- Minimum 5 years experience in Internet IT (hardware and software) domains,
  out of which at least 3 years hands-on experience in portal/websites
  development, implementation, administration and management
- Experience in portal project IT management is a plus


*** Key Result Areas:

- Daily maintenance of Qtel's new portal
- Some code implementation (php, SQL, later on: JAVA-JSP)
- Maintenance and migration of the hardware and software systems
- Local testing of software tools (CMS, databases, web servers, application
  servers)
- Communication with solution providers
- Identification of required functionalities together with internal Qtel's
  stakeholders
- Definition of technical requirements and Writing of the IT chapters of
  various requests for proposals related to the Internet / Intranet project
- Technical support for the decision process of the portal management team
- Support to publishing portal content


*** Core Capabilities:

- Very good knowledge of Open Source paradigm (software, tools, community)
- Expertise in the following tools and OS : SQL databases (PostGreSQL, mySQL),
  PHP, SQL, Apache, Linux. Also: HTML, Java are a plus
- Very good understanding of the market of Open Source CMS (Jahia, SPIP,
  Typo3, e-CMS, etc)
- Ability to write clear and solid technical requirements
- Some knowledge of the market of application servers (like Dynamo, JBoss,
  BEA) is a plus
- Good understanding of hardware architectures
- Ability to complete the usual portal IT tasks (backups, user management,
  helpdesk, maintenance, bug identification/correction)
- Problem solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills (English knowledge is a must) as well as
  proven communication ability


This position is a 2 year contract renewable as a permanent position.
