[jira] [Updated] (INFRA-11739) Question: migrating code from GitHub

Daniel Gruno updated INFRA-11739:
---------------------------------
Status: Waiting for user (was: Waiting for Infra)

You can transfer ownership of the specific repo to one of us.
If need be, you may have to move the repo out of whatever organisation it's currently in on GitHub.
We tried this with a couchdb repo, and it works.

> We are looking at migrating code form GitHub to Apache. Is it possible to do this migration in such a way that we preserve our starts/forks/watches on the repo? We have > 200 watches, > 500 forks, and > 2500 stars. This gives the project some street-cred that we don't want to lose.
> I reached out to the AirBNB repository owner ([~maxime.beauchemin@apache.org]), and he said he's unable to grant root@ admin access to his company's repos. Is there another way?
> I spoke briefly with [~pono], and he mentioned asking [~humbedooh] about this.
