We may want to come to a decision about whether or not we want the MiniAccumuloCluster to be used for both automated integration tests AND as a quick-start development environment. Supplying a main method is simple but we should consider the packaging- is there going to be an option in accumulo-start's Main class? Will there be a different script for firing it up? Is it up to the user to jam this into a maven module with the necessary dependencies and call the main() method?
