mkdir error in lint

When run lint, im getting the following error:

Aug 16 21:47:16.112 [4457] dbg: config: mkdir /var/www/.spamassassin
failed: mkdir /var/www/.spamassassin: Permission denied at
/usr/share/perl5/Mail/SpamAssassin.pm line 1853

Though i have no idea what its for and why it would be trying to write
to a www folder.

Thanks,
Mark

...because it's trying to process an email sent to whichever user has
/var/www as their home directory? "apache" perhaps?

Are you running --lint as a user who has their home directory set to
/var/www/ ?

By default, spamassassin tries to create the Bayes and/or AWL databases
in ~/.spamassassin.
