The planetmirror.com link on http://maven.apache.org/faq.html#ibiblio-mirrors is simply:

http://planetmirror.com/pub/maven/

Unfortunately, if you set this as your remote repo with the maven.repo.remote property, all attempts to download from the repo result in a HTTP status code of 302 (redirection).

The URL for the mirror should be changed to:

http://downloads.planetmirror.com/pub/maven/

This results in a HTTP status code of 200, and the download works properly.

fixed. Changed to public.planetmirror.com though, as that was the target of the redirect.
