Speaking about deterministic, I voted for deterministic dialogue management, not linguistic feature recognition.

Hi Boris,
Thanks for sharing the slides. I had a quick look. Looks like your presentation has a lot of interesting ideas to discuss in 50 minutes.
I found these two arguments to be interesting:
- How NOT to build: machine learning models
- How NOT to build: probabilistic graphical models (in favor of deterministic/rules)
(I do not necessarily agree with them, just thinking if OpenNLP especially parsing and NER stuff relies on those two. )
Also, Evaluation is equally as hard as building chatbot. I like the views of this paper: How NOT To Evaluate Your Dialogue System: https://aclweb.org/anthology/D16-1230
