Maven Specialist Needed

Hello All,

I was browsing the Maven users group and it suggested sending open jobs to
the users@maven.apache.org mailing list.

The reason I am reaching out to everyone today is that I'm working with a
client who is in the process of replacing their current version control tool
(PVCS) with Collabnet's Subversion tool. This client has recently contracted
our firm to lead the Maven / Nexus implementation and we're looking to start
within the next 2-3 wks.

The development organization is a multi-platform shop performing JAVA and
Websphere development. They are looking to integrate the use of Maven and
Nexus as part of this conversion to improve the control, quality and
efficiency of their software build process while utilizing RAD as the IDE
platform.

We expect this work to be approximately 20 weeks in duration and the
candidate will accompany and report to other CMI staff. This project is
expected to begin the 2nd week of September.

Responsibilities:
* Provide technical assistance with the preparation of applications for the
transition to the new Configuration Management Infrastructure with occasional
technical support on application specific issues. This would include
Identifying software build impacts in moving to the new tools including
Subversion, Maven and Nexus and assisting with the integration and
optimization of Subversion, Maven and Nexus.
* Support for Packaging - provide technical assistance with the requirements
to build once but package multiple times to support the various targets. The
client has found documented methods but have not been successful in working
this requirement through and needs assistance in handling this requirement.
* Support for Populating Nexus - the client is looking at methods for
populating the Nexus repository with external and internal applications. The
client needs technical assistance to address the external applications to
improve the current process.
* Support for Layered Builds - the client has some complex applications that
have a requirement to build components that are then required to build other
functions within the application. The client has been working on various
methods to accomplish an application build in multiple stages within one
Maven build (POM). The client needs technical assistance to validate the
approaches and work through some issues in the process.

Skills: Maven, Nexus

Also Beneficial: Java and Websphere Software Development, Eclipse-based IDE,
Perl Scripting, Subversion

Additional knowledge as a bonus: Collabnet's TeamForge, Hudson

If you are interested in this opportunity please contact me immediately, my
information is listed below.

Best Regards,

There is a jobs@apache.org list. The developer and user lists list is not for recruiters.
