How do I contribute code to slider

Hi, guys.
I want to contribute some codes to slider. Can I create a jira issue and then submit a pull request in Git. Or, should I submit a patch in Jira issue too?
Is there any official guidance that I can refer to ?

We usually use patches attached to JIRA issues. A couple of times we've
reviewed a pull request, though.
