[jira] Resolved: (CASSANDRA-534) MessageService.stream() fails for zero-length files

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-534?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]

Jonathan Ellis resolved CASSANDRA-534.
--------------------------------------

    Resolution: Invalid

there's a lot of code that assumes sstable files will not be empty, so let's continue to prevent their creation (e.g. CASSANDRA-532) rather than fixing the symptoms one at a time.

> MessageService.stream() fails for zero-length files
> ---------------------------------------------------
>
>                 Key: CASSANDRA-534
>                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-534
>             Project: Cassandra
>          Issue Type: Bug
>    Affects Versions: 0.3, 0.4, 0.5
>            Reporter: Stu Hood
>            Priority: Trivial
>
> When sending a zero-length file using MessageService.stream, the StreamContextManager.IStreamComplete handler for the stream will never be called.
> This was triggered in testing by attempting to bootstrap with an empty SSTable, and is possible (if extremely unlikely) in production.
