[Bug 54592] New: Apache2 service not found or service cannot be created inWindows 7

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=54592

            Bug ID: 54592
Summary: Apache2 service not found or service cannot be created
                    inWindows 7
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.0.64
          Hardware: PC
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: Build
          Assignee: bugs@httpd.apache.org
          Reporter: fredc2k9@aol.com
    Classification: Unclassified

Created attachment 29973
  --> https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=29973&action=edit
Screen Shot of cmd-line to start Apache2 service - does not work

I used httpd-2.0.64-win32.x86-no_ssl (same result for
httpd-2.0.64-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.8.o) Windows Installer on my laptop running
Windows 7.

Basically, Apache2 service was not created nor can can be created using a
command line (please see attachment).

Hopefully, this can be fixed asap.

Thanks,
FredC

P.S. the Apache download site does not have an download Windows option for
Apache 2.2 version...?

2.0 is end of life, and this problem has not been reported elsewhere as far as
I can tell (I create services on Windows 7 without issue with 2.2.x)
