> As a precursor to support persistent services through Apache Aurora we have to enable dynamic reservation of resources through Aurora. A stateful service needs the ability to create a persistent disk volume, and the ability to reserve resources. A persistent volume is necessary to actually store the state, and reservation of resources is necessary in order to reliably re-offer the service: the state itself, along with the resources necessary to retrieve the state (e.g. cpu and memory). Aurora needs to be extended to take advantage of these new features that are now supported by Mesos.
