Question about my use case

All,

I am wondering if someone could give me a little insight on how I might be
able to implement the following using ServiceMix.

There are two different specifications from the OGC (Open Geospatial
Consortium), one is called WFS (Web Feature Service) and the other is called
SOS (Sensor Observation Service). Both of these specs require clients to
communicate using XML over HTTP and on the backend a database is used to
store and retrieve data. Both specs are used to insert, update, delete, and
query data in basically the same way. What I would like to do is have one
component on the backend that deals with the database operations and two
components available to clients that meet the WFS and SOS request / response
specs.

Questions:

1. Does this seem like something that can be done or fits well with
ServiceMix?
2. What types of things are already in ServiceMix that may help with this
use case?
3. What types of things would I need to create?

Thank you very much for any assistance that you may be able to provide.

Doug

Sure it does.

We have binding components for http and at codehaus, there is a
component that uses Oracle
xsql.

If you use both http and xsql components, you should only create
components that are able
to translate the incoming http requests (I hope this is xml in POST
method) to the xsql
xml format and foward it to the xsql component.
