Existing Apache documentation for obtaining a pgp key and getting it signed is spotty. http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/SigningReleases, last updated 2005-05-01, "is a scratchboard to gather links and resources so that we can end up with a document with adequate info for the novice ReleaseManager, to be transcribed and put" at http://www.apache.org/dev/.
I have written documentation, currently at http://wiki.apache.org/jdo/KeysAtApache, that I think witll help future Release Managers with keys and key signing. I propose linking to this page, at its current location or a new location, from the Releases section of http://www.apache.org/dev/.
As stated on the KeysAtApache page, there are still apparently questions about the role of the KEYS file.
Please comment on the KeysAtApache page and the proposal to link to it from http://www.apache.org/dev/.
