I think patch v5 from [~antiguru] is good start for the multiple Hadoop support and we could improve iteratively:
1, Make the shim module to be bundle for OSGi
2. Make hadoop shim instance to be final in the Hadoop util.
3. Documentation

We will create separate JIRA to follow up.
