Is there any place where I can download a full archive of the list?
The page at
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users
is useful to peruse the list, but I'd like to get a gzipped mbox or
equivalent.

Once. I'm subscribed to users@subversion.tigris.org and
dev@subversion.tigris.org, but I'd like to download the full archives
(50,000+ messages for dev!), so I can do local searches or read
interesting threads from the past.

Not a bad idea. I've added links to gzipped versions now. They're compressed
on demand so there's no size available for them.

I thought about that, but decided not to on purpose: if these links turn out
to be frequented by spambot harvesters a lot, then I have an easier way to
stop them when only accessing the files through this single script. (Like by
adding some stupid human form with a question or something.)

Lovely. I've got what I wanted from it: a message from last February. Fortunately the message I wanted was near the beginning of the month so I didn't have to download the whole 7 MB. It might be nice to provide it gzipped, but then you'd have to consider whether to provide it in plain format or other compressed formats as well, so maybe it's not worth the hassle. It would just be a nice optimisation for some of us; it wouldn't make the difference between "can use it" and "can't use it".
Since you asked for comments, it would also be nice, especially for those downloading more than one month, if the download filenames were something like "users-2003-02.mbox" and "dev-2002-12.mbox" instead of always "mbox.cgi".
Regardless of these possible enhancements, thanks for making the archives available.

The most recent mbox is what gets all new mails appended to it, so it'll
continue to grow until the end of the month.

I would sometimes like to download one message in original mbox format, perhaps because I have deleted it from my local mail folder and now want it back again. I doubt that I would download the whole archive as one file (too big), but I would be happy if I were able to download a one-month mbox file.

This is something I would be interested in as well. I am finding the
archives very useful, but a local copy for searching would be even
better.

I run the alternative mail archives at http://www.contactor.se/~dast/svnusers/
and I could be persuaded to distribute an mbox if need be.

The subversion lists are archived by www.gmane.org. You can access
gmane archives via NNTP or by downloading a mbox file via the
proceedure described on the page below.
