[users@httpd] SHA Encryption

I am trying to load a password file from a Netscape web server into Apache.
Netscape uses the SHA encryption method. I have the file in the correct
format, but Apache doesn't seem to like it. So I tried creating a new
password file using the HTPASSWD command with the -cs options to use the SHA
encryption. When I pull up my web page and type in the user name and
password that I just added, it won't let me in. Is there something that I
have to do in the configuration to let Apache know that my password file is
using the SHA encryption method? The password is prefixed with {SHA} so I
didn't think that would be necessary. Has anybody tries this and had any
luck with it?
