[jira] [Updated] (OOZIE-2167) TestCoordMaterializeTransitionXCommand fails

Robert Kanter updated OOZIE-2167:
---------------------------------
    Attachment: OOZIE-2167.patch

Oozie itself was fine, it was the tests which were not correct. The patch fixes these problems:

*testMaterizationLookup*
It first looked like Oozie was incorrectly handling DST here, but then I realized that the Coordinator we create for the test uses the "America/Los_Angeles" timezone; so Oozie is supposed to be handling DST here. The test uses hardcoded values for {{TIME_IN_DAY}} (i.e. 24), which isn't correct if the start and end times straddle a DST shift (one of the days will have 23 or 25 hours). I fixed this by writing a method to check for this and return an offset.

*testMaterizationEndOfMonths*
This had the opposite problem. The Coordinator was in UTC but the test was inadvertently using the JVM's default timezone, which is "America/Los_Angeles" for me. To add and subtract months, it was using {{org.apache.commons.lang.time.DateUtils.addMonths}}, which is a simple method that uses {{Calendar}} to add months; however, based on the code, this grabs the default timezone. I fixed this by using my own {{Calendar}} object, set to Oozie's Processing Timezone (UTC).
