[jira] Commented: (QPID-843) Management Console packaging doesn't work for unix

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-843?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12594016#action_12594016 ]

Senaka Fernando commented on QPID-843:
--------------------------------------

I have mailed the dev list on how to setup the Management Console on unix, and it seems that it works. In order to get the dependencies build with 'dependency:copy-dependencies' option on maven which will copy the jars to the target/dependency folder which can be utilized in packaging purposes. However, as it seems that qpid is moving from maven to ant, this should rather be focused towards the ant build system especially on how the build will download the necessary dependencies, which is crucial.

Regards,
Senaka

> The management console packaging in distribution doesn't work, you're left with a 748K tarfile as opposed to a 11M zip for windows, which then doesn't run as it's missing things like startup.jar
