[jira] Created: (EMAIL-93) A dot (".") is appended to some ULRs in the body of an Html type email.

A dot (".") is appended to some ULRs in the body of an Html type email.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: EMAIL-93
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/EMAIL-93
             Project: Commons Email
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 1.2, 1.1
Environment: jre1.6.0_06, Windows (maybe also Linux)
            Reporter: Brian Braun

I'm using Apache Commons Email 1.2. I create an email using the class "HtmlEmail". I have tried this both using charsets "ISO_8859_1" and "us-ascii".
The body of the message I assign to the email includes the URL "http://paradisedelivery.homeip.net/delivery/?file=TZC268X93337.zip". But when the email is sent, a dot is automatically inserted before the ".zip" part, so the final url is "http://paradisedelivery.homeip.net/delivery/?file=TZC268X93337..zip" (two dots before "zip") which doesn't work obiously. The component is inserting this extra dot, I'm sure of that.

I think the sequence of characters in the URL makes the component fail. Some URLs are being respected, but this one is not.

This is what the debug output shows in the last part, there you can see the double dots:

Hi Brian,

I had a look at the issue by adding a new test case to HtmlEmailTest ("testAddZipUrl") but I'm unable to reproduce the problem. Can you have a look the latest code if I missed something obvious in reproducing the problem?

Hi Sigfried,

I SWEAR the bug was occuring! But now that I got back to the issue, it is working perfectly. Weird, very weird.
Shall the bug appear again, I will reopen the case. But for now (and maybe forever), I have closed the case now.

THANKS A LOT for the time you spent.

Brian
