[VOTE] Apache Gora 0.2 RC

Good Afternoon Everyone,

A candidate for the Apache Gora 0.2 release (our first since graduation
from the incubator) is available at:

http://people.apache.org/~lewismc/apache-gora-0.2/rc1/

The release candidate is a src.zip and src.tar.gz archive of the sources in:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/gora/tags/gora-0.2

We release Gora only as src, this is due to the nature of the project and
the requirement to recompile the codebase.

A staged Maven repository of the 0.2 sources is available here:

https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachegora-074/

Please vote on releasing this package as Apache Gora 0.2.
The vote is open for the next 72 hours and passes if a majority of at
least three +1 Gora PMC votes are cast.

[ ] +1 Release this package as Apache Nutch 1.5
[ ] -1 Do not release this package because...

Many Thanks and heres to plenty more.

Kind Regards,
Lewis

P.S. Here's my +1.

Hi Ferdy,

With regards to the pom.xml problems you previously highlighted, I've been
over to Maven lists to gather opinion on what the relative knock-on effect
will be if we were to release this code.
You can track the conversation here
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/maven-users/201204.mbox/%3CCAGaRif1E%2BDEn4O2R3Bh%3D1FFdAbK1pRSxu7Fq__RHTtiexQK4uA%40mail.gmail.com%3E

If it turns out that there will be no minimal relative impact (fingers
crossed), then I would like to progress with the release, however of course
if this is not the case then I will roll RC2.

Regardless of what happens above I will make some changes to correct at
least one of the issues (with the appending of trunk after the tags in the
submodules). However the other may be a bug in the maven release plugin, I
am pursuing this line of enquiry as well as I've not received any
indication of any other explanation yet.

Thanks

Lewis

I'm still having some test failures, this seems to be very specific local
issue. (It's the MapReduce tests that fail because of invalid DFS
directories).

But because the tests seem to work at the majority of the devs and the core
functionality of Gora works perfectly fine, I'm having no trouble with this.

Here's my +1.

Signatures look good.

Build the source, pass unit tests and run against some sample data
(except the accumulo module). Looks good.

Hi Henry,

Yeah I will mention this when we have a decision on the RC.

Did you mange to to play around with the code and are you able to cast a
VOTE?

Thanks
