[jira] [Created] (QPID-5427) It is possible to mask critical logging messages

Andrew Stitcher created QPID-5427:
-------------------------------------

             Summary: It is possible to mask critical logging messages
                 Key: QPID-5427
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-5427
             Project: Qpid
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: C++ Broker, C++ Client
            Reporter: Andrew Stitcher
            Assignee: Andrew Stitcher

As far as I understand it the entire point of log messages at the "critical" level is that they cannot be turned off at all. That is what critical means - the user *must* be informed of the confition being logged.

Unfortunately for a little while now it has been possible to turn all log levels off by specifying "--log-disable trace+" or using "--log-enable !trace+".
