[jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-8143) Partitioner should not be accessed through StorageService

Ariel Weisberg commented on CASSANDRA-8143:
-------------------------------------------

No need to apologize. Cassci is not in a good state right now.

I do want to emphasize that it doesn't matter if the tests pass when you run them. The only thing that matters is that they pass in Cassci. Well we want them to pass on desktops as well, but if it passes in Cassci and not on a desktop I would never fault the developer. I stress this because it's common for things to only fail in Cassci.

> The configured partitioner is no longer the only partitioner in use in the database, as e.g. index tables use LocalPartitioner.
> To make sure the correct partitioner is used for each table, accesses of StorageService.getPartitioner() should be replaced with retrieval of the CFS-specific partitioner.
