[Article] Porting Python to NuttX
Hi,
Python was recently ported to NuttX. I wrote about the technical details of
this work in the following article.
Check it at

Those "BIG OSes" perform a different function than an RTOS. The big OS is not an RTOS and does not have real-time performance. Their default schedules guarantee CPU availabiltiy. They are optimized for sustained data transfer.
An RTOS, on the other hand, is optimized for low latency, responsive behavior. As a consequence, the RTOS is naturally prone to a bit of "thrashing" around and may even have worse performance in the kind of tasks that Big OSes are used for.
It is not just a linear scale with OS A "faster" than OS B which is "faster" than OS C. A benchmark across several kinds of tasks would show some superior performance and some worse performance, depending primarily on if the requires good processing throughput or upon quick, deterministic response times.

Exactly :-) There are more and more powerful chips out there with
Cortex-A CPU or big RISC-V one day we may outperform big OS with NuttX
on them :-)

Tiago,
Thank you and Congratulations!
Regarding the following paragraph:

devices - like the ones that are supported by the NuttX RTOS - and that there

I just want add that NuttX devices like k230d contains 128MB DDR within the SoC,
so having Python is really nice for AIoT scenarios.

We still don't have anything about it. It's something that may be
interesting to compare.

This is great news! I was always interested in NuttX but now it can solve
some real problems I need to address
Congrats to all developers!!

Thank you and Congratulations Tiago!!! Having full Python is better
than MicroPython.. do you have a comparison on the resources use
between those two? :-)
