Hi,

Get the ip address of the particular host you don't want to scan

Edit your tcp.smtp file

add this

ip.address.ofserver.here:allow,QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue"

Run tcprules tcp.smtp.cdb tcp.smtp.tmp < tcp.smtp

Done.

Regards,

Rick

No, that's probably me being stupid. My SA setup is integrated in my mail
program, so I'm only up on the basics. :)

Unless I'm being really stupid, add the IP of your 'no scan' host to
/etc/tcp.smtp and don't set QMAILQUEUE - any messages will bypass
qmail-scanner.

Can't help you much on that end - perhaps someone else here can. But if it
helps or gives a clue, SpamAssasin only scans what it's told to scan. The
other option is to add a whitelist entry, however you're then still
scanning the messages you don't want scanned.

yes, sorry, i should have been more specific.

the mail server is receiving mail from multiple hosts

i DON'T want to spam scan mail FROM a particular host delivering mail to
my mail server

below is an example of my /etc/tcp.smtp

:allow,QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue"
127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue"

Are you referring to a computer getting mail for multiple hosts, and say
for incoming mail to domain1 you want scanned but not domain2?

You don't call SpamAssassin. All depends on your configuration. More
details are necessary.
