Which way to go: 2.0.1 or 2.1?

Hi,

There is a 2.0.1 branch but without much activity happening. I'm
specifically interested in the fix for bug JS2-496[1], which is in
the trunk only. Is it safe to go the 2.1 way for a customized portal
or is there too much dangerous bleeding edge stuff contained?

regards,
konrad

Konrad,

The 2.0.1 branch is stable and simply needs to be released. There are no
plans to fix more bugs in that branch.

2.1 is relatively stable at the moment. I suggest capturing svn
snapshots and recording the svn version numbers as you go. You can then
merge in patches if you get in a tight spot.

There are bigger things planned for 2.1.... AJAX and Web 2.0 work.
However, they should be largely isolated in their own areas. I am
perhaps not the most conservative person given that i work in open
source, but i'd use 2.1 over 2.0.1. Just keep different svn branches so
you are not forced into builds later on.
