...
      return file.getLen();
    }
    long len = OrcAcidUtils.getLastFlushLength(fs, file.getPath());

OrcAcidUtils.getLastFlushLength also has an exists() check and returns Long.MAX_VALUE if false.
exists() is expensive on S3.
